Steps made for Western Australian in challenging Wodonga conditions.
GasGas Racing Team’s Regan Duffy has labelled his eighth place overall at Wodonga ‘a little goal ticked’ as he continues to build in his return to the Penrite ProMX Championship.
Duffy went 10-11 in the motos which marked a considerable step forward from round two at Appin four weeks ago where he finished the round in 20th.
“I’m stoked to get my first top 10 since I’ve been back,” Duffy told MotoOnline. “It’s a little goal ticked off now, so we’ll keep working towards the next goal.”
“In the second moto I had some solid speed, at the start I was getting up towards the top-five mark, then threw it down. I think I had a total of about nine crashes today, so it was a bit of a hectic day, it’s hard doing 150-kilogram deadlifts flat out, all over the track with a heavy bike, but you get that sometimes, I should’ve just slowed down and kept it on two wheels.
“All in all I’m stoked, I had a pretty rough round at Appin, so to bounce back with this on a day that’s probably not my best riding, I’m happy with it.”
Ahead of round four of the 2023 Penrite ProMX Championship at Maitland, NSW, on 6-7 May, Duffy sits 15th in the MX1 championship standings.
