The resurgent Matt Moss will contest the remainder of the 250SX West championship, named by BarX Suzuki as the newest rider in the team.

Moss delivered a standout Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX) campaign last year in SX1, achieving a 50 percent strike-rate in the four-round series to ultimately miss regaining the title by a single point.

Riding a YZ450F for BBR 102 Motorsports in the Australian series, Moss highlighted his versatility by competing on a quarter-litre with Bud Racing in the World Supercross Championship (WSX) and the Supercross de Paris, achieving international success in France by being crowned the ‘Prince of Paris’ onboard the KX250.

Moss’ winning form extended his international opportunities for 2023 and has indicated that his focus is firmly on Supercross for the upcoming season. The BarX Suzuki ride provides the opportunity for the Australian to showcase his talent in the US once more, and reunite with RM-Z machinery on which he has achieved a wealth of success in past.

“The opportunity came about after a solid end to the Australian Supercross season, I spoke back and forth with the team and the first round will be at Oakland,” Moss explained to MotoOnline. “Then, I will return home for a couple of weeks and head back for the last stint of West coast races of the series.

“It’s great to be back on a Suzuki, it’s a bit of a grassroots feeling after having so much success with the brand both in Australia and the US. It’s just a really good opportunity to be back in America and be racing against the best of the best.”

Moss’ first outing this year in the Monster Energy Supercross Championship will be the postponed Oakland round, next Saturday. He will then venture back to the US and contest the remaining 250SX West races.
