Eight-round series to commence at Victorian venue on 5 March.
The 2023 Penrite ProMX season opening venue has been announced, with gates to drop at Wonthaggi on 5 March to commence next year’s championship.
It marks the third consecutive year that the Victorian venue will host the first round of the series, and while the remaining rounds have not been announced the championship is expected to span across eight rounds on eight different weekends.
“It was great to see ProMX back in 2022 for a full season without interruption,” Motorcycling Australia CEO Peter Doyle explained. “This success has set us up for a huge 2023 and I can’t think of a better way to kick off the new season than returning to Wonthaggi with the Dandenong Motorcycle Club.”
“I want to thank all the event sponsors who have worked together to get this event not only on the calendar but bigger and better every year. It’s fast becoming an icon of the championship and I can’t wait.”
After the previous two seasons were either cancelled or heavily disrupted due to coronavirus, 2022 saw the series return to eight rounds, with Aaron Tanti (CDR Yamaha Monster Energy) crowned champion in MX1 and Wilson Todd (Terrifirma Honda Racing) taking the MX2 title.
