Adding a fourth Red Bull Straight Rhythm victory to his collection, Marvin Musquin remained undefeated at this year’s event as he produced a 250cc masterclass at Huntington Beach.

Notably, Musquin’s previous Red Bull Straight Rhythm victories came on a four-stroke, 2022 marking the first time that the Frenchman raced the event on a two-stroke.

He defeated top qualifier and reigning champion Ken Roczen in the final to take the honours, as the German overcame GasGas rider Justin Barcia who completed the top three in his first Red Bull Straight Rhythm appearance.

Musquin came close to defeat in the semi-finals from Josh Hansen, and notably, Cooper Webb knocked out former winner Gared Steinke before Barcia beat the KTM rider in the quarter-finals. Aaron Plessinger was eliminated in the round of eight by Musquin.

Defending 125cc champion Carson Brown (Yamaha) defeated Josh Varize in the final, pulling off a triple-triple in the rhythm section during the second run to help secure the victory in the rain-impacted conditions. Derek Kelly completed the top three in the lightweight class.
