Serco Yamaha MX2 contender Jesse Dobson pushed through a recent shoulder dislocation to land third overall for round seven of the 2022 Penrite ProMX Championship at Queensland Moto Park (QMP).

Dobson sustained the injury at the Queensland Motocross Championships in Rockhampton, just one week out from round seven of ProMX.

During the first moto at QMP, he was caught up in an opening turn pile-up but was able to work his way back to P8 from outside of the top 25. A solid ride in moto two saw the number 14 charge from 12th after lap one to ultimately finish runner-up to Nathan Crawford.

“Last weekend I dislocated my shoulder, so it’s been a bit up in the air on how today was going to go,” Dobson told MotoOnline. ” I’ve been working really hard with my off-bike trainer, physio Levi and then with Ford Dale, my on bike trainer has also been really understanding.

“We just did everything we could to get out on track this weekend and once I got out there I could just put it behind me. We ended up second in that last race and third overall, so considering all of the odds that were against me coming into this weekend, we ended up pretty good.

“We are still third in the championship, which is good, good points. On to Coolum and we will be looking for that top step there.”

With the 2022 MX2 title already wrapped up by Wilson Todd, 16 points separate Dobson and second-placed Rhys Budd as ProMX moves to Coolum this weekend for its eighth and final round.
