Newly-crowned 250SX East champion Jett Lawrence has been ruled out of tonight’s 2022 Monster Energy Supercross finals in Salt Lake City after a crash in qualifying this afternoon.

Lawrence will miss the second 250SX East/West Showdown of the year after tweaking his ankle in the incident during Q1, where he recorded the third-fastest time in his region.

It’s a disappointing way to end the series for the younger Lawrence brother, who had indicated yesterday that he was planning on assisting Team Honda HRC teammate Hunter Lawrence in his 250SX West title bid against Christian Craig (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha).

Lawrence will now turn his attention to defending his 250MX crown when the 2022 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship commences at Fox Raceway on 28 May.
