Round three of the 2022 season complete in North Queensland.
Husqvarna-mounted Andrew Wilksch led the way in E3, as ShopYamaha’s Josh Green topped E2 and teammate Kyron Bacon won E1 at round three of the 2022 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) in Mackay.
Wilksch continued his run of dominance in E3, finishing ahead of Jonte Reynders (Sherco) and Stefan Granquist (KTM) in the category as he enjoyed close to a four-minute advantage.
In E2, ShopYamaha mainstay Green made it three round wins from three in class, finishing ahead of Todd Waters (Husqvarna), who is doing double duties this weekend – also competing in ProMX on Sunday – and Michael Driscoll (ShopYamaha).
Rounds one and two pace-setter Bacon (ShopYamaha) was victorious in E1, atop of another teammate in Blake Hollis – who scored his first podium of the 2022 AORC season – and Jeremy Carpentier (JGR Yamaha).
The Women’s class again belonged to Jess Gardiner (JGR Yamaha), dominating round three to finish over six minutes clear of Emelie Karlsson (KTM) in P2, as Ebony Nielsen completed the podium on Friday.
Riley Mcgillivray set the pace in EJ ahead of Kobi Wolff, with William Dennett finishing in third. Notably, Cherrabah winner Billy Hargy completed the day in fifth within the category according to provisional results.
