450SX pair Eli Tomac and Dylan Ferrandis lead a formidable Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha line-up into 2022, blending experience and youth with its six-rider 250 squad.

Ferrandis enters 2022 fresh off an outstanding rookie 450 campaign, securing the 450MX title with a round to spare and also achieving a podium in Supercross at Houston’s second round.

“Our off-season has been going great,” Ferrandis stated. “We have been working really hard on and off the bike. We still have one month left to prepare for the 2022 Supercross season, but I’m pretty excited for my second season on the 450 and can’t wait for A1!”

Making the switch from Monster Energy Kawasaki, Tomac will have the opportunity to fight for his fifth 450 national championship – previously winning the 450MX title from 2017-2019 and the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross crown.

“December riding at the Star Racing facility in Florida alongside my teammates has been great preparation,” Tomac explained. “We’ve all been pushing for the next level and are ready to go for the 2022 Supercross season!”

Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha 450 team manager Jeremy Croker added: “This off-season has been one that I will never forget – we moved the team across the country and have a new addition with Eli.

“So it’s been a lot of long hours to prepare for the season, but it’s very exciting. Dylan and Eli have been working very hard and look amazing. Hard work pays off and we saw that last year. I think 2022 looks to be even better!”

A six-rider line-up will represent across the 250 class championships, returning champions Justin Cooper (2021 250SX West), Colt Nichols (2021 250SX East) and Jeremy Martin (two-time 250MX title winner), all looking to add further crowns to their collection.

Christian Craig will also be back, joined by Nate Thrasher and Levi Kitchen. Thrasher made a mark in 2021 – his first full season in the pro ranks – taking two 250SX wins, however, was sidelined during the Pro Motocross championship.

Kitchen capped off a strong amateur career with a pair of titles at the 2021 AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s and was named the Nicky Hayden AMA Motocross Horizon Award Winner, now set for his rookie 250SX campaign.

The 17-round 2022 Monster Energy Supercross Championship commences in less than a month, Anaheim, CA hosting the season-opener on 8 January 2022.
