The 2021 Berry Sweet Manjimup 15,000 is starting to take shape with a list of ProMX contenders already confirmed for the 4-6 June event in Western Australia.

The prestigious and world-renowned motocross event was forced into cancellation during a pandemic-affected 2020, which has only intensified the excitement surrounding the race according to Dirt High Promotions’ Willie Thompson.

The All-Stars entry list is currently headlined by defending Manjimup winner and current MX1 points leader Regan Duffy (KTM Racing Team), who famously won the event in 2019 at just 17 years of age.

The fan-favourite is set to be joined by Australian champion Todd Waters (Husqvarna Racing Team), CDR Yamaha Monster Energy duo Luke Clout and Hayden Mellross, plus Western Australians Jayden Rykers (Empire Kawasaki) and Connor Tierney (SB Motorsports Suzuki Ecstar), who are amongst a list of local riders.

“I feel that the riders want to come to Manjimup,” Thompson declared to MotoOnline.com.au. “We have a lot of people coming from the east this year – they hear about it and it’s gathering momentum every year.

“The guys now want to come – instead of asking ‘are you interested in coming?’, they’re straightaway saying ‘I’m very interested’. To get them to come is so much easier.

“Everyone I speak to just cannot wait for it – they’re more enthusiastic than ever. I think it’s going to be a big event and that we’re going to have a good event. Everyone was starved of it last year – so they’re very keen this year.”

The event, which usually attracts a number of international riders, will do so without any overseas entries in 2021, although Thompson is confident that won’t impact this year’s edition. It’s understood more national-calibre riders could strengthen the entry list in the coming weeks.
