Reigning MXD champion already racing Husqvarna machinery in Western Australia.
It appears Regan Duffy’s move to Husqvarna is all but confirmed, with the reigning MXD champion set to step up to the MX2 category in this year’s MXstore MX Nationals.
The 17-year-old, who represented Australia at the Motocross of Nations last year, has recently been publicly racing Husqvarna machinery in the same colours as Todd Waters in his home state of Western Australia.
It further shapes the self-operated squad that’s set to be officially announced by MX1 champion Waters, who’s already showcased elements of the team after contesting the first two stops of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship.
Waters hasn’t disclosed the exact details of the operation, although strong BerrySweet branding – a long-time sponsor of both Waters and Duffy – on the bikes of both riders suggests the WA-based company will serve as a major backer of the duo.
It’s still unclear if Newry will host round one of the MX Nationals in May after Horsham’s season-opener was postponed last week due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, with all national races up until June under review by Motorcycling Australia.
