KTM Australia press release:

Reigning national champion Daniel Milner is one step away from claiming the E2 crown in the 2019 Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) after achieving another double victory at Coonalpyn, South Australia, on 31 August-1 September.

KTM Enduro Racing Team’s Milner has been the dominant force throughout this year on-board the KTM 450 EXC-F and that was once again the case this weekend at the penultimate stop of the series in variable sandy conditions.

Milner won in class on Saturday by 1m19.250s, before managing to increase his buffer to 2m22.249s on Sunday. As a result, he holds a commanding 27-point lead in the standings with two rounds remaining.

Rounds eight and nine were also positive for KTM Enduro Racing Teammate Lyndon Snodgrass, finishing on the podium in second place on both occasions riding the KTM 250 EXC-F. Snodgrass is currently ranked P2 in the championship.

The 10th and 11th rounds of the 2019 Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) will complete the season at Hedley in Victoria on 14-15 September. Visit www.ktm.com/au for further information on KTM Australia.

Glenn Kearney – Motorsports Manager, KTM Australia: “Overall it was a really good weekend in South Australia at an awesome venue. It was a sandy property, a tough track for the riders and it got really rough, plus today was a mixture of all surfaces and ended up being quite technical. Milner managed to take both E2 wins and has a strong lead in the championship with only two rounds to go, which is great for the KTM Enduro Racing Team, while Lyndon rode really well to battle for the E1 win and ended up finishing second on both days.”

Daniel Milner – KTM 450 EXC-F: “The tracks this weekend were so good and it was awesome to finally have a deep sand round. Saturday’s track was pretty full-on because it was fast in whooped out sand, but today was different because it had a mix of everything including rocky sections and sand again. We had the KTM 450 EXC-F working really well though, which was fortunate for me, so I’m pretty happy to come away with the E2 wins both days. I will continue to focus from here, look to wrap up the championship at Hedley and I’m excited to get there already!”

Lyndon Snodgrass – KTM 250 EXC-F: “I finished second in class both days, which were some good results, but I wasn’t super-happy because I need to gain points in the championship. The tracks at Coonalpyn were awesome though, I really liked them and the racing was close, so it was positive all in all. Saturday’s track was fast and I enjoyed that a lot, plus today’s variation of terrain was also a lot of fun to ride, so we will move forward from here and keep the pressure on for the championship to see what happens at the final rounds.”
