Coldenhoff confirmed for Open position as two riders considered for MX2 spot.
Hosting country The Netherlands has named injured 2018 MXGP champion Jeffrey Herlings in its squad for this year’s Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN), scheduled to take place at Assen on 28-29 September.
Herlings missed the opening half of the MXGP World Championship after injuring his foot while training in Spain during the pre-season, making a return at Russia’s eighth round before injuring his ankle in a bizarre sighting lap incident at the MXGP of Latvia.
The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing ace has since been sidelined, while it’s still unclear if he’ll line-up at the remaining three rounds of the championship this year.
Herlings will be joined on the Dutch MXoN squad by Glenn Coldenhoff (Standing Construct KTM), who went 1-1 at Imola on Sunday, while the nation has named two riders for the MX2 position – Calvin Vlaanderen (Honda HRC) and Roan Van De Moosdijk (F&H Racing Kawasaki) – the final decision to ultimately be made on rider performance in the coming weeks.
