AFL-star Deledio headlines athlete-filled line-up in Sydney.
A Yamaha Celebrity Challenge has been added to a packed schedule at this weekend’s Monster Energy AUS-X Open Sydney, where a host of athletes from mainstream sports will pilot Yamaha TT-R 110’s inside a sold-out Qudos Bank Arena.
Leading the charge will be Gold Coast Giants and former Richmond FC ace Brett Deledio, who’s an avid supercross fan and recreational dirt bike rider.
The AFL star will be joined by 2015 Supercars champion Mark Winterbottom, along with fellow Supercars driver Dale Wood, former Parramatta Eels Captain Nathan Hindmarsh, Manly Warringah Sea Eagles half back Trent Hodkinson and world rally driver Chris Atkinson.
“I love my motorbikes,” said Deledio. “When I first moved to Victoria I was able to buy my own bike, and I’d go out riding with my mates quite a lot – that was pre kids of course.
“I think the Supercars boys will give us some trouble given their racing background and what not, but the NRL guys are probably a little too heavy for the bikes we’re riding, so I should be able to leave them in my wake.”
Saturday night’s scheduled is set to be completed by the headlining Triple Crown for the Australian Supercross Championship finale, complimented by the 2-Stroke Cup, FMX Best Trick, Best Whip and more.
