Former AMA Arenacross runner-up full of anticipation for prestigious event.
Complete Parts Kawasaki Racing’s Jace Owen will draw upon his experience in the AMA Arenacross Championship at next weekend’s Monster Energy AUS-X Open Sydney.
The American import is no stranger to the tighter confines that Qudos Bank Arena will deliver, having been highly-successful in similar arenas throughout the United States.
With an Australian Supercross Championship podium now under his belt at Adelaide, a top three against a stacked field isn’t out of the question for the number five, who’s been surging with form in the later stages of the series.
“A podium would be awesome and I do come from an arenacross background,” Owen told MotoOnline.com.au, “I haven’t been there before, but I know the dirt is really good. We finally had some good dirt in Adelaide and I finally rode how know I can. I’m really looking forward to the AUS-X Open – getting a podium in Adelaide has got me jacked for it.”
Owen is positioned third in the standings, while Sydney’s finale is set to shake up the championship with the addition of Chad Reed (Autotrader Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing), Jason Anderson (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing), Dean Wilson (DPH Motorsport Husqvarna) and Ryan Villopoto (Monster Energy Yamaha).
