Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Justin Barcia has announced he’s withdrawn himself from next month’s Monster Energy AUS-X Open at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena.

Barcia, who represented Team USA at the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN) on the weekend, released a statement via social media, citing a ‘pressing issue’ will prevent him from attending.

“I wanted to let all my Australian fans know in advance that unfortunately I will not be able to attend the Sydney [AUS-X Open],” Barcia revealed.

“I am really disappointed I won’t be able to make it as I was really looking forward to it but a pressing issue has come up which will keep me from attending. Sorry to my Australian fans and thank you very much for the continued support.”

The AMA supercross and motocross regular was a headlining entrant for the prestigious event, however a long list of the world’s best riders are still in for the 11 November showing, including Chad Reed (Autotrader Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing), current world champion Jason Anderson (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing), Ryan Villopoto (Monster Energy Yamaha)and a strong contingent of talented AUS Supercross contenders.
