Sanders, Styke and Higlett secure class victories in rounds eight and nine.
KTM Enduro Racing Team’s Daniel Milner has captured outright victories in rounds eight and nine of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) at Kingston SE in South Australia on the weekend.
Round eight saw Milner top the outright times with a slender advantage over a hard charging Daniel Sanders (Husqvarna Enduro Racing Team), while Active8 Yamalube Yamaha’s Wil Ruprecht closed out the top three.
In E3, it was Milner who dominated with over three minutes between himself and runner-up Lachlan Stanford (Husqvarna Enduro Racing Team), followed by Gas Gas-mounted ace Broc Grabham, while in E2 Sanders took top honours ahead of Ruprecht and Lyndon Snodgrass (KTM Enduro Racing Team).
Former Australian motocross champion Luke Styke (Active8 Yamalube Yamaha) topped the E1 division with a modest lead over youthful talent Fraser Higlett (Husqvarna Enduro Racing Team), as Jeremy Carpentier (Yamaha MX Store Ballards Off-Road Team) wound up in third.
Milner once again stood atop the podium in the outright results in Sunday’s ninth round with a commanding performance, Sanders was second after overcoming a selection of mistakes followed by Joshua Green (Active8 Yamalube Yamaha) in third.
KTM-mounted Milner couldn’t be stopped in E3, extending a four-minute-plus advantage ahead of Stanford as they crossed the line, with Thomas Mason (KTM) stepping onto the podium in third. Sanders proved to be too good in E2 as he captured his ninth-straight victory, this time defeating Green and Snodgrass.
Higlett emerged victorious in E1 and capitalised on a tough day from Styke, crossing the line ahead of Yamaha’s Carpentier and Jack Simpson (KTM). The Australian Off-Road Championship now heads to Omeo in Victoria for rounds 10 and 11 on 6-7 October, marking the final stop of the series.
