Sanders and Styke complete Outright podium in New South Wales.
KTM Enduro Racing Team’s Daniel Milner has captured a commanding Outright victory at Broken Hill’s seventh round of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) in New South Wales, which hosted an all-new cross country format for the first time in the series.
Husqvarna Enduro Racing Team’s Daniel Sanders endeavoured to halt the defending champion, however his efforts saw him wind up 47.902s behind in second, while Active8 Yamalube Yamaha Luke Styke concluded the Outright podium in the third, trailing the leader by 6m14.225s.
In the E3 category, it was Milner who blitzed the field over Lachlan Stanford (Husqvarna Enduro Racing Team) and Andrew Wilksch (Motul Pirelli Sherco Off-Road Team), which now sees the factory KTM ace with a substantial 30-point advantage in the standings.
Sanders was all too good in the E2 class once again, dominating the division as Lyndon Snodgrass (KTM Enduro Racing Team) and Riley Graham (Yamaha) completed the top three. With seven victories to his name, Sanders controls the standings by 29 markers.
In a spirited performance, Styke clinched an incredible win in the E3 category with over five minutes separating him from his nearest rival Fraser Higlett (Husqvarna Enduro Racing Team), who was a comfortable 10 minutes ahead of third’s Jeremy Carpentier (MX Store Ballards Off-Road Team). Styke’s triumph places him 27 points ahead of Higlett in the championship rankings.
The Australian Off-Road Championship will now head to Kingston in South Australia for rounds eight and nine, scheduled for 22-23 September.
