The Monster Energy AUS-X Open Sydney will feature a special Friday program in 2018, including SX1 and SX2 qualifying alongside newly-introduced 2-Stroke Cup heat races and the final round of the Australian Junior Supercross Championships on 9 November.

A build-up to Saturday’s main event, Friday’s action kicks off with a Pit Party from 3:00pm and the night event commencing at 7:00pm and running until 9:30pm within Qudos Bank Arena.

The brand new 2-Stroke Cup will take place with some of Australia’s favourite past and present champions expected to compete. Plus, fans will witness SX1, SX2 and Freestyle Motocross practice sessions, SX1 and SX2 elimination qualifying races and the 85cc and Junior Lites categories.

To help give families the best opportunity to witness some of the world’s best supercross riders in action, General Admission tickets for Friday’s sessions have been priced at a flat rate of $32 for Adults and $25 for Juniors (3-14 years). Ultimate VIP ticket holders gain access to Friday’s sessions free of charge, with VIP ticket holders’ entry heavily discounted to just $19.90.

In addition to the on-track qualifying and racing action, Friday’s program will feature FMX action, as well as autograph signings in the Pit Party and the opportunity to purchase merchandise and see the world’s best riders preparing for what is going to be a blockbuster weekend.

For up and coming supercross riders, Friday’s qualifying will be crucial in gaining entry to Saturday’s AUS-X Open event. Friday’s program was created specifically to give more junior and non-seeded riders the opportunity to compete in Australia’s biggest supercross event, as well as offer fans the ability to see the best in the world, test and prepare for what will be the most heavily-contested night of racing in Australian supercross history.

“The addition of Friday’s program is really about providing the opportunity for Australia’s best up and coming supercross racers, including 13-16 year old juniors and un-seeded SX2 and SX1 class riders, to compete in Australia’s biggest event, whilst giving families an affordable option to see the world’s best including current world champion Jason Anderson, Chad Reed, Ryan Villopoto, Justin Barcia, Justin Brayton and more on the track as they lay down their best laps to prepare for Saturday,” event co-founder Adam Bailey said.

“We wanted to offer Friday GA access at the cheapest possible price as a thank you to fans that have travelled far and wide to support the AUS-X Open and also for those who may not have seen supercross before, to come and get a taste of what it’s all about inside this incredible venue.”

According to fellow Event Co-Founder Ryan Sanderson, adding two-strokes to the program was an absolute no-brainer after reviewing the results of research conducted amongst AUS-X Open fans: “We’ve been asking our fans all year ‘what do you want to see in 2018?’ and the resounding feedback has simply been ‘more two-strokes’. You spoke, we listened and now the stage is set for some epic racing across both days and we still have plenty more news and announcements to come.

“Fans will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the world’s best supercross and FMX riders and with on-track action starting from 7pm Friday, we urge everyone to pencil it in as their Friday night entertainment. Grab your mates and take the kids at $32 an adult ticket, Friday night will be one of the most affordable night’s of sporting entertainment in Sydney, combined with an enormous schedule for Saturday’s AUS-X Open, it’s going to be a massive weekend in Sydney!”
