Eighth overall at Coolum's finale grants Kawasaki ace third in the standings.
Complete Parts Kawasaki Racing’s Aaron Tanti has labelled his third place finish in the Pirelli MX Nationals MX2 championship as a ‘huge achievement’.
The talented New South Welshman, who ended his 2017 campaign in 15th position, scored his maiden overall win this season with a host of podiums to his credit.
The number 18 narrowly missed out on the runner-up spot in the season rankings, falling short to Hamish Harwood (Davey Motorsport KTM) after a difficult encounter at Coolum’s 10th and final round yesterday.
“It was a tough weekend for me,” Tanti admitted. “I didn’t have the flow from the get-go – I wasn’t happy with how I was riding and I was a little tight, but in moto two I improved in my riding.
“It would have been good to get second in the championship, although third is a huge achievement for me from where I came from. I’m happy with it and I’m really thankful for the team believing in me.”
With the Australian Supercross Championship just a month away from commencing at Jimboomba in Queensland, Tanti will shift his attention towards making an assault at the SX2 crown.
