Team France and Belgium announced for RedBud's 2018 edition.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Marvin Musquin has addressed being snubbed for a spot on Team France’s Motocross of Nations (MXoN) squad, revealing he was prepared to contest the 7 October event at RedBud in the United States of America.
In a bizarre decision, defending champions France elected to choose Gautier Paulin (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna), Dylan Ferrandis (Monster Energy Yamalube Star Yamaha) and Romain Febvre (Monster Energy Yamaha) despite Musquin currently being in contention for the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
“No, I didn’t refuse to race for Team France,” Musquin commented via social media. “Yes, they didn’t pick me even though I was ready, motivated and the calendar was not an issue. It was in our plan for months already!”
The French Federation of Motorcycling has not revealed why it decided to bypass the former world champion, who has been racing on the AMA pro circuit since 2011.
Chamberlain Trophy contender Team Belgium recently announced its squad, confirming Clement Desalle (Monster Energy Kawasaki), Jago Geerts (Kemea Yamaha) and Jeremy van Horebeek (Monster Energy Yamaha) will represent the country. New Zealand revealed its team last month, while Australia and Team USA are still to list their squads for the prestigious event.
