Impressive top 10 finish for the youthful talent in Queensland.
Callum Norton declared he felt right at home in his debut with DPH Motorsport Husqvarna at Sunday’s ninth round of the Pirelli MX Nationals in Gladstone, Queensland.
The youthful Victorian, who transitioned from Penrite Honda Racing the factory Husqvarna team in place of the provisionally suspended Kade Mosig, was impressive in his first outing aboard for the FC 450, charging to a pair of seventh place finishes for seventh overall.
“I’m really happy with the weekend,” said Norton. “Although I didn’t hole-shot, I was in the lead group from the start and was able to push through both motos for equal sixth overall, and stay in front of some pretty fast guys.
“The DPH crew made me feel right at home on the bike and I can understand why so many riders step up when they ride for this team, so I’m glad I was able to give them a solid result. I can’t wait for Coolum next week.”
It’s understood Norton’s guest ride with DPH Motorsport Husqvarna stands for just the final two rounds of the MX Nationals, which is set to conclude this Sunday at Coolum in Queensland.
The number 118 contested the MXD category for Penrite Honda Racing prior to Raymond Terrace, where he had made the decision to step-up to the premier class before exiting the squad following the double-header stop of the series.
