Race victory credits youthful talent second overall in Germany.
MX2 World Championship contender Hunter Lawrence has sampled Honda’s premier class CRF450R at the weekend’s ADAC MX Masters in Bielstein, Germany.
Lawrence, who’s been gradually returning to form following a hand injury sustained earlier in the year, contested the German event for the KMP Honda Racing outfit, taking advantage of an off weekend in the world series to gather additional seat time.
The Australian was highly-impressive in his outing aboard the 450, charging to a 13-second victory in the opening affair, while the second and final moto saw him bounce back from a poor start, claiming fourth to be credited second overall.
“I initially got stuck in traffic and struggled to make forward progress,” said Lawrence in regards to his moto two performance. “But after a few minutes, things started to go better and I was able to make up a lot of places. Second place in the Sunday rankings is absolutely fine by me. I’ll be going home with a smile on my face.”
The Queensland-native will now return to his regular duties aboard his 114 Motorsport Honda CRF250R in the world championship, which recommences this weekend at Pangkal Pinang in Indonesia, marking round 12 of the series.
