HQVA press release:
Husqvarna Motorcycles Australia has announced that the groundbreaking fuel-injected Husqvarna TE 250i and TE 300i models will be the sole enduro-specific two-strokes available in the range as of MY19.
Boasting innovative technology, the Husqvarna TE 250i and TE 300i enduro bikes simplify two-stroke maintenance even further than ever before. The requirement of jetting revisions at varying altitudes and temperatures is eliminated, as is the need to pre-mix your fuel with oil prior to powering through your favourite trails.
Competitive success has already been evident, with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna duo Billy Bolt (Extreme XL Lagares) and Graham Jarvis (Erzbergrodeo Hare Scramble) capturing victories in the opening rounds of the exciting new 2018 World Enduro Super Series (WESS) aboard the Husqvarna TE 300i.
With the fuel-injected range being prioritised within the Europe market to meet Euro4 requirements upon release, this year Husqvarna Motorcycles Australia has continued to offer the carburetted version alongside the first Husqvarna TE 250i and TE 300i models to land in the country.
Now, Husqvarna Motorcycles Australia is phasing out the last of their kind carburettor 2018 Husqvarna TE 250 and TE 300 models nationally, with respective recommended retail prices of $12,995 (Husqvarna TE 250) and $14,495 (Husqvarna TE 300). This is your opportunity to secure a piece of history in the pioneering range.
The carburetted Husqvarna TE 300 has achieved its share of success on a domestic level in the Australian Off-Road Championship, including third place overall in the 2016 Enduro3 (E3) series with Lyndon Snodgrass then at the helm, while Frenchman Matthias Bellino was crowned E3 world champion the year prior.
Alana Baratto – Marketing Manager, Husqvarna Motorcycles Australia: “Husqvarna Motorcycles has been developing the electronic fuel-injection technology for the last 10 years in anticipation of the Euro4 regulations. The result of this development is an innovative solution that offers fuel-injection to the two-stroke models, minimising emissions whilst not compromising performance. The electronic fuel-injection technology was introduced to the range this year and has been met with lots of positive feedback from the media, dealer network and new owners. The electronic fuel-injection technology offers clean running, additional fuel range and no need to mix oil into the fuel. This year both the electronic fuel-injection and carburettor models were made available to Australian riders, however moving forward only the TE 250i and TE 300i will be available. The 2018 Husqvarna TE 250 and TE 300 models will be the last of the two-stroke carburettor models available. After so much success on the race track, we envisage that the last of the carburettor models will become quite sought after as collection pieces – it’s time to purchase a piece of history!”
Glenn Kearney – Motorsport Manager, Husqvarna Motorcycles Australia: “To own a piece of history and keep a carburetted model will be something of value for a long time to come, so it’s a great opportunity to snap-up a current Husqvarna TE 250 or TE 300. The simple fact is that anybody who is hands-on can get in there and tinker with their bike to an extent and the sheer power-to-weight ratio makes them really fun to ride in the way they deliver their power and torque. At the same time, it’s very exciting to have the state of the art fuel-injected Husqvarna TE 300i and TE 250i models available in Australia and I’m personally excited to see where it leads in the future. I have spent time on the bikes myself and, at this point in my life, they’re perfect for what I’m looking for in terms of a nice trail ride and it’s genuinely exciting to be a part of it all.”
