Geico Honda's Martin captures 250MX overall and points lead.
Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac has lodged yet another perfect 1-1 scorecard at Thunder Valley’s third stop of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, maintaining his dominant winning streak in the series.
The defending champion earned the victory in typical Tomac fashion, making passes and battling for position to ultimately steal two commanding race wins.
Former champion Ken Roczen (Honda HRC) claimed his first podium since returning from injury, securing the runner-up spot with a pair of second place race results.
Rounding out the top three was Blake Baggett (Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM) in third, finishing ahead of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Marvin Musquin and fellow Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM rider Benny Bloss, who was fifth for the day.
The 250MX category received a real shake up as former points leaders Zach Osborne (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) and Aaron Plessinger (Monster Energy Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha) both endured difficult days while finishing outside of the top five.
Multi-time champion Jeremy Martin (Geico Honda) rose to the occasion, recording 2-1 results for the not only the overall, but also the points lead.
TLD Red Bull KTM’s Alex Martin stormed to second overall ahead of Justin Cooper (Monster Energy Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha) in third, as Austin Forkner (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) and Jordon Smith (TLD Red Bull KTM) concluded the top five in fourth and fifth respectively.
The next stop on the Pro Motocross calendar is scheduled for 16 June at High Point in Pennsylvania, marking round four of the series.
