Australian contender Phillips pushes through difficult grand prix.
Bradley Freeman (Beta) and Alex Salvini (Jet Zanardo Husqvarna) have each secured victories at Estonia’s fourth round of the EnduroGP World Championship.
Freeman captured a narrow win in Saturday’s EnduroGP classification, edging out Eero Remes (TM Factory Enduro Racing) and Steve Holcombe (Team Beta Factory Racing), while Australian Matthew Phillips (CH Racing Sherco) wound up in 12th.
The E1 division was dominated by Freeman, who finished 1m55.32s clear of second’s Jamie McAnney (Outsiders Yamaha Racing), as it was Antoine Basset (Gas Gas Factory Team) in third.
Remes stormed to the E2 class win ahead of Salvini and Loic Larrieu (Outsiders Yamaha Racing), while Phillips mustered up a fifth place finish in the category. Holcombe topped the E3 standings followed by Daniel McAnney (Gas Gas Factory Team) and Anthony Geslin (Beta).
Sunday’s edition of the Estonian grand prix saw Salvini complete the day with a slender 9.92s advantage in the combined EnduroGP category, defeating Holcombe and Freeman to conclude the weekend.
Freeman once again claimed top honours in the E1 class, beating home Jamie McAnney and Basset. The E2 division was taken out by Salvini followed by Larrieu and Christope Charlier (Team Beta Factory Racing), while Phillips recorded a non-finish.
Holcombe was fastest in E3, dominating the category to clear second’s Christophe Nambotin (Gas Gas Factory Team) by 1m44.10s, as Daniel McAnney secured third. The EnduroGP series will return to action on 29-30 June at Trentino in Italy.
