KTM Motocross Racing Team’s Kirk Gibbs is aiming to secure a record-breaking fourth Manjimup 15,000 crown this weekend amongst an all-star line-up in Western Australia.

The former Australian motocross champion will be joined by a host of Pirelli MX Nationals regulars, including rival Dean Ferris (CDR Yamaha Monster Energy), Egan Mastin (KTM Motocross Racing Team), Kyle Webster (Penrite CRF Honda Racing), Jayden Rykers (Raceline Pirelli KTM), Connor Tierney (Yamaha) and MXD points leader Bailey Malkiewicz (Bulk Nutrient WBR Yamaha).

Gibbs, who will also face off against WA’s local talents and international guests Jacob Hayes (Kawasaki), Junior Perroit (KTM) and Damon Graulus (Suzuki), says he’s hopeful of demoting current record holders Jay Marmont – his team manager – and Craig Dack, who currently share the top spot with three victories each.

“It’s always good fun going to Manji,” Gibbs told MotoOnline.com.au. “It always turns it on there and it has a really good crowd – I have a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to it and there’s going to be some tough competition there.

“It would be lovely to get a win because that would make me the most winningest rider at Manjimup – I’m tied with Jay [Marmont] and Craig Dack – we’re all on three wins. It’s a well known race and it’s a big milestone to be the winningest rider there. It’s definitely something I want to tick off the box.”

This year’s edition of the Manjimup 15,000 will be hosted in conjunction with the opening round of the Australian Womens motocross championship and Australian Vets motocross championship.
