Australian Pro Motocross contender sidelined indefinitely.
A broken scapular sustained at Hangtown’s Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season-opening round sidelined Hayden Mellross from the second stop at Glen Helen at the weekend, damaging his 2018 campaign in the 250MX category.
Mellross remained tight-lipped on the injury last week, revealing the news through an announcement on social media during the weekend.
“Unfortunately I will not be lining up tomorrow at Glen Helen,” Mellross confirmed. “I took a hard crash at round one which has resulted in breaking my scapular. We are working hard to get healthy and back to 100 percent. A huge thank you to the team and everyone behind me, we will be back strong.”
It’s unclear when the Australian will return to action with the CycleTrader Rock River Yamaha outfit, however it’s anticipated that it could take a number of weeks before we see Mellross back behind the gates as he allows the injury to adequately recover.
