Trio of world-class Australian squads heading to Chile this November.
Team Australia has been officially named by Motorcycling Australia (MA) ahead of the 2018 International Six Days Enduro (ISDE), to be contested at Vina del Mar in Chile between 12-17 November.
The World Trophy team will consist of Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) regulars Daniel Milner, Daniel Sanders and Lyndon Snodgrass alongside American-based Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) contender Josh Strang.
A pair of newcomers will join the Junior World Trophy team for this season, as Husqvarna factory revelation Fraser Higlett and Andrew Wilksch team up with Tom Mason, who makes his return for the first time since winning with Team Australia in 2015.
The all-conquering Women’s World Trophy team is targeting a sixth-straight victory in the ISDE, as reigning champions Jess Gardiner and US-based Tayla Jones are to be joined by Mackenzie Tricker – also currently competing in America – following the retirement of Jemma Wilson.
“This is a good group of riders and I’m looking forward to a South American ISDE, as we think the conditions will hopefully play into our riders’ hands,” commented Australian team manager Don Atkins.
“It’s great to have Josh in the team and look forward to see how Lyndon goes with his move from the junior team to the senior team. I am really looking forward to seeing how the womens team perform on their quest for an incredible sixth ISDE crown in a row and how our newly-formed junior team performs in the sandy Chilian conditions.”
The junior team will be self-funded, with a 140-kilometre trail-ride fundraiser scheduled for 16 June in conjunction with Barrington Tops Trail Bike Adventures and Dungog Motorcycle Club in New South Wales at a cost of $200 (includes BBQ lunch, fuel and licence).
