Australian Jed Beaton says he expects more out of himself ahead of this weekend’s fifth stop of the MX2 World Championship after falling short of a top 10 overall finish at Trentino, Italy, on Sunday.

After getting caught up with another rider in the opening moto, Beaton charged from the rear of the field to salvage 15th, while in the second outing, he was able to pilot his F&H Racing Kawasaki to eighth, crediting him 12th overall.

“This weekend wasn’t really good,” Beaton reflected. “In the first moto I collided with another rider and had no front brake in the race, but came back from 28th to 15th. My start in the second moto was much better and I came in the top 10 within a few laps.

“I was seventh with sixth in front of me for most of the race but lost one position later. My second moto was much better and I ended the weekend on a pretty good note, but I expect more for the next GP in Portugal.”

Beaton sits eighth in the world standings, just two positions shy of countryman Hunter Lawrence (Team Honda 114 Motorsport’s).
