Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac has charged to victory at the 13th round of the 2018 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, pushing through the mud-filled conditions to take top honours.

Consistent rain fall in the lead-up to the event meant a challenging night was inevitable, although Tomac handled the difficult conditions with class, securing a nine-second victory.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jason Anderson was credited the runner-up position and still retains the points lead with a 37-point advantage over Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Marvin Musquin, who closed out the podium on the night.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing teammate Broc Tickle finished in a distant fourth, marginally ahead of fifth place’s Cooper Webb (Monster Energy Yamaha). Australian Chad Reed (CR22 Husqvarna) claimed his best result of the season, earning seventh as he pushed his bike across the line in a highly-spirited effort.

The 250SX West main event was all about Star Racing Yamaha’s Aaron Plessinger, who led from start to finish, extending his points advantage to 17 in the process.

Geico Honda’s Chase Sexton claimed a lonely second, as it was Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Adam Cianciarulo who concluded the top three in third.

Shane McElrath (Red Bull TLD KTM) and Justin Starling (Husqvarna) were fourth and fifth respectively, while Australian Hayden Mellross (51Fifty Yamaha) salvaged 10th in what was a demanding night of racing.

The Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship will now head to Minneapolis this weekend for the 14th stop of the tour.
