Ever-improving Australian in the mix throughout first Triple Crown.
51Fifty Energy Drink Yamaha’s Hayden Mellross showed he will factor in the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross Championship, scoring seventh overall in 250SX West at Anaheim 2.
The Australian stormed to 7-10-8 finishes across the three finals that made up the opening Triple Crown event of the year, adding confidence three rounds into the season.
“I had a great week of training leading into Anaheim 2 and was feeling awesome on the bike all day,” Mellross said. “I felt that with three solid starts I could run up front with the top guys. I’m extremely happy with seventh, but I know I have more to offer.”
Mellross’ improved performance at Anaheim sees him climb to 10th in the championship standings, as a result of matching his best-career finish of seventh in the main event on Saturday night.
