Autotrader Yoshimura Suzuki has called in Malcolm Stewart to replace Justin Bogle at this weekend’s second round of the 2018 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship in Houston, Texas.

Stewart was expected to enter a privateer Kawasaki this year, but missed Anaheim 1. With Bogle injured in the lead-up to the opener, JGR has called in Stewart to stand in on a race-by-race basis at this stage.

“The opportunity came about on Sunday when J-Bone [Jeremy Albrecht] called and asked if I wanted to ride their factory Suzuki RM-Z450,” the 25-year-old commented. “I’ve been so busy up to this point with getting things organised to go racing on my own and that’s why I was unable to race at Anaheim.

“To be given this chance on a factory team is a blessing. Now I’ve been on both sides of the fence, from being a privateer to racing for a factory team. It has truly been a humbling experience, and I’m ready to give the team my full effort.”

The 2016 Eastern Regional 250SX champion contested the majority of supercross rounds last year on his way to 15th in the standings, claiming a best result of ninth at St. Louis aboard a privateer Suzuki.
