Webb takes charge of SuperEnduro with German win

Red Bull KTM racer wins two of three finals at round two.

American Cody Webb is the new leader of the 2017-2018 SuperEnduro World Championship after winning round two in Riesa, Germany, on Saturday night.

After a strong start to his championship campaign in Poland where he claimed a runner-up result, Red Bull KTM’s Webb scored SuperPole and two of three final wins at the second round of the season.

Starting race one third, Webb quickly worked his way around leaders Colton Haaker (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) and Jonny Walker (Red Bull KTM) to claim the opening win of the night. With the start order reversed for race two always proving decisive, Webb cut his way through the field to place a hard-earned third.

Going on to win the third and final race of the round, Webb ended round two on the top step of the podium and with it the took over the championship points lead. He won the overall from race two winner Haaker and Red Bull KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak.

The 2017-2018 SuperEnduro World Championship continues with round three in Malaga, Spain, to be contested on 17 February.
