Mega Fuels Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Nathan Crawford says he felt most comfortable out front this weekend at the Monster AUS-X Open in Sydney, where he led a number of laps in Saturday’s main event.

With an already stacked field, plus the addition of internationals, Crawford shone in front of the stellar crowd, lodging two highly impressive performances over both nights, concluding the weekend with a 6-5 scorecard to his name.

“I think a pretty good weekend for me is a bit of an under statement,” Crawford said to MotoOnline.com.au. “We obviously has a few highly-anticipated riders here this weekend – we threw a few more Americans in there – and I went 6-5 [race finishes].

“A massive step forward compared to last year on the 250 – I didn’t even make the main event on the second night. Leading five or six laps – leading that main event was crazy. But to be honest with you, I was the most comfortable out on the track when I was in the lead. I just have to believe in myself and send it.”

The popular Queenslander currently sits fifth in the standings as just one round remains in the Australian Supercross Championship this weekend at Jimboomba in Queensland.
