Visiting international Jason Anderson believes he’ll put up a fight against his fellow Americans and local Australian contenders this weekend at the Monster Energy AUS-X Open, set to be hosted inside Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena.

The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider will be joined by teammate Dean Wilson and Geico Honda’s RJ Hampshire, in what will be the biggest event of the year in motocross and supercross racing domestically.

Renowned for his aggressive style of racing, Anderson stated he’s here in Sydney to win, and will make any necessary manoeuvres in order to make that happen.

“It’s cool to come check out Australia, I’m looking forward to racing there and racing new competition,” Anderson said in AUS-X Open’s recent Viral film. “To win the AUS-X Open, I definitely think you’re going to need to get a good start, because if not, it’s kind of chaotic there – the track is super tight.

“Those racers in Australia are no slouches, and I know what we have coming from here between me, Dean [Wislon] and [Justin] Brayton, we’re going to put up a fight – it’s going to be fun.

“I guess people say I have an aggressive riding style a little bit, but definitely when you have to make a pass, you got to make a pass no matter what happens. I’m hoping to make it out of Sydney safe, but I’m definitely going there to win and that’s it.”

Alongside the SX1 and SX2 categories will be a special 2-Stroke showdown featuring motocross and supercross legend Ricky Carmichael and internet sensation Ronnie Mac, while the FMX Best Trick and Best Whip competition will include world-class riders such as Robbie Maddison, Jackson Strong and Pat Bowden.
