Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Daniel Sanders says the end to his rookie EnduroGP World Championship campaign has been good, finishing up eighth in the E2 overall standings.

The 2016 Australian Off-Road Champion rounded out the year with 7-11 results at Germany’s season-finale over the weekend, which the Victorian-native said he really enjoyed.

“I really enjoyed it here in Zschopau – this is what enduro is all about,” Sanders commented. “The crowd were amazing and the tracks were great. I am disappointed my results weren’t a little better, but all in all the end of the season has been good for me.”

Sanders has experienced a mixed year on the world stage, while a shoulder injury sustained while racing Hattah in Australia only added to his difficulties. Despite the challenges, the popular off-road ace also displayed his potential on a number of occasions, lodging his best result of sixth multiple times throughout the duration of the year.

The 23-year-old signed a two-year deal with the prestigious factory KTM outfit at the beginning of the year which is slated to see him through to the completion of the revamped 2018 championship.
