SX1 predictions
First:
Justin Brayton – Brayton was super impressive at the opening round in Queensland and he proved he means business in defending the premier class title this season. It’s going to be hard to top the American this weekend at round two.
Second:
Dean Ferris – Ferris continues to impress in the SX1 class after kicking off the year on the podium. The CDR Yamaha rider will be one to look out for this weekend due to his consistency and skill on the supercross track.
Third:
Luke Clout – Clout was one of the fastest riders on the track at round one and battled his way from an early fall through to fourth place. If he can start up front this weekend he will be a serious podium threat.
Watch for: Dan Reardon, Todd Waters, Kade Mosig, Dylan Long, Nick Schmidt
SX2 predictions
First:
Hayden Mellross – Mellross was just too good at round one and it’s tough to imagine that he’ll be slowing down any time soon. He’s in fine form currently and he’ll be looking to maintain that red plate this weekend.
Second:
Gavin Faith – The former multi-time champion admitted that he did get tired after leading early at round one, he will be right there again this weekend, but can he challenge for the win? We’ll have to wait and see.
Third:
Jackson Richardson – Although off the pace slightly at round one, the defending champion has been putting in the work between rounds to ensure he is back at the front of the field. If he wants to successfully defend his SX2 title, it’s time to start pushing for the podium.
Watch for: Mitch Evans, Wilson Todd, Jay Wilson, Dylan Wills, Geran Stapleton
