Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Dean Wilson will make his way to Sydney this November to contest the 2017 Monster Energy AUS-X Open event inside Qudos Bank Arena on 11-12 November.

Joining a star-studded list of international supercross riders already confirmed for the event including Australia’s own Chad Reed, teammate Jason Anderson, Josh Grant and Ricky Carmichael, Wilson’s upcoming AUS-X Open appearance will serve as his Australian competition debut.

The 25-year-old looks forward to hitting the circuit at Sydney Olympic Park and has his sights set on claiming victory ahead of the deep field of talent already confirmed for the third-annual running of the event.

“I’ve heard a lot about the AUS-X Open and am pumped to head down for it this year!’ Wilson said. “I love Australia and can’t wait to see the Aussie fans and go bar to bar with Chad, Jason, Justin [Brayton] and the rest of the field. I’ll be giving it my all to take down the champ in his home town!”

Monster Energy AUS-X Open director and co-founder Adam Bailey expressed his excitement upon announcing the likeable and ultra-talented Scottish racer’s involvement in this year’s event.

“Dean is not only a superstar athlete but a true character in the supercross world,” Bailey explained. “He has one of the most energetic riding styles on the planet and most importantly is a fun guy that the fans absolutely love. We are going to be in for one spectacular weekend. There’s plenty more exciting news to come – watch this space!”

Further announcements regarding the 2017 Monster Energy AUS-X Open athlete line-up and more are expected in the coming weeks. For more information of the event, head to www.ausxopen.com.au.
