Factory KTM rider makes switch to revolutionary new model.
Australian E3 champion Lyndon Snodgrass debuted the highly-anticipated 2018 KTM 300 EXC TPI at last week’s FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Brive, France.
Snodgrass rode the revolutionary new model for the first time upon arrival in France, piloting it in the prestigious event to finish 39th Outright and 10th in the E3 division.
The KTM Enduro Racing Team rider praised the fuel injected two-stroke, commenting on the smooth power delivery and fuel economy of the 300cc machine.
“My first ISDE was awesome,” Snodgrass reflected. “It was hard – your body gets pretty sore by the end of it, but it’s fun. It was cool to be working as a team, and all the trails up in the hills were pretty awesome.
“I was riding the 300 TPI bike and it was awesome. I hadn’t ridden one until I got over there, so to like it as much as I did – I think everyone’s going to love them. They have really smooth power, just run super clean, and get better fuel economy than the carby bike too.
“I’m a little bit disappointed about my overall result, but there were some positives and some negatives along the way, so I’m not too mad about it. I’m pretty keen for next year’s one when we come around to it.”
Snodgrass represented Team Australia in the Junior category, however with the exclusion of teammates Michael Driscoll (Yamaha) and Wil Ruprecht (Yamalube Active8 Yamaha) on the opening day with navigational issues, it resulted in the youthful team being forced to accept 16th overall in the week-long event.
