Raceline Pirelli KTM press release:
Raceline Pirelli KTM’s MX2 pilots Jayden Rykers and Jay Wilson are preparing to begin the wrap up of the 2017 Motocross season, starting with round nine of the MX Nationals this weekend at Toowoomba in Queensland.
With the Pirelli MXD championship concluding at Port Macquarie, the KTM backed 250cc team, will field a two rider line-up on Sunday, with both Wilson and Rykers excited to have the opportunity to head back to Echo Valley Raceway.
For Wilson, Toowoomba is one of his favourite venues in the country, and shared that throughout his career, he’s experienced the most success at this Sunday’s Round 9 race track.
“I’m really excited to be heading to Toowoomba, I achieved my first ever round win there in 2015, and I’ve always managed to go quite well there,” Wilson shared.
“I haven’t had long to find my feet in the championship so far, and I’d really like to finish off the year with some strong results, so hopefully we can take a few steps in the right direction this weekend.
“I’ve had a positive couple of weeks, I’ve had some good days on the bike, and I’m keen to get to Toowoomba and see what we can do on Sunday before heading to Coolum to finish off the season.”
For Rykers, who has consistently recorded top five results throughout the second half of the season, the ninth round at Toowoomba will provide yet another opportunity to keep the positive momentum going.
“I’m feeling not bad at all ahead of this weekend, the last couple of weeks we have kept busy riding, racing, and testing,” Rykers shared.
“If we can get some good starts on Sunday we’ll be in a good position.
“Every race is always important but I’m in a happy place at the moment, at this stage in the series I’m just looking to keep developing and progressing with the team and the results.”
The ninth round of the 2017 MX Nationals will take place at Toowoomba in Queensland this Sunday, August 13. Visit the official series website at www.mxnationals.com.au for further information.
