Defending champion returns home for AORC finale.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Daniel Sanders has confirmed he’ll line up at this weekend’s final two rounds of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) at Omeo in Victoria.
The defending AORC Outright and E3 champion has been contesting the prestigious 2017 EnduroGP World Championship, where he currently sits ninth in the Enduro2 standings.
A two-month gap in the calendar has allowed the popular Victorian to return home and enter his first round of AORC since the finale last year, where he wrapped up the title.
“I’m back in Australia for the final rounds of the AORC in Omeo,” Sanders explained. “I look forward to getting out there and ripping up the prime dirt we’ve got here in Australia, catching up with everyone and having a good time. Hopefully the weather holds off, and we can have a nice event. [I’m] Looking forward to seeing everyone there.”
Sanders’ last event in Australia was the Hattah Desert Race in July, which saw him finish runner-up despite a heavy crash in the closing stages.
KTM Enduro Racing Team’s Daniel Milner has dominated the AORC in 2017, winning every round Outright – which is unofficially scored – while also topping the E2 class at each and every stop in 2017 to lead the series.
