Practice crash results in injured collarbone and scapula.
Red Bull/Troy Lee Designs/KTM has announced 250MX title contender Alex Martin will sit out this weekend’s ninth round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Washougal, Washington, ultimately crushing his title hopes.
In a brief announcement, KTM revealed Martin suffered a practice crash in Florida this week, resulting in an injured collarbone and scapula.
It’s yet to be determined when he will return, although with a weekend off in the series following Washougal, it will grant him additional time to recover. He’s slated to undergo further evaluation from a second doctor this week.
Martin sits second in the championship standings, 43 points behind Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Zach Osborne as four rounds remain.
