Youthful talent ties points with Yamaha-mounted Kingsford.
Jett Burgess-Stevens (TM) raced to a 2-1 scorecard at last weekend’s sixth round of the Motul MX Nationals in Nowra, New South Wales, to capture the Yamaha 85cc Cup.
In the sole appearance for the junior category, Burgess-Stevens took a nail-biting win, levelling on points with Yamaha-mounted Ryder Kingsford, who was downgraded to second on count back with a race win to his name.
Kingsord put in a spirited performance, but Burgess-Stevens likened to the rough and challenging circuit in the final moto of the event, resulting in him settling for second.
A pair of thirds credited Connor Towill (KTM) the rightful place of third position to conclude the podium, a strong showing for the local New South Welshman.
The top five was completed by Cambell Williams (KTM) and Cooper Dudley (KTM), followed by Brodie Petschauer (KTM), Mason Hills (Yamaha), Nate Thompson (KTM), Koby Hantis (Kawasaki) and Jack Bates (KTM).
