KTM Desert Racing Team’s David Walsh was denied his shot at the 2017 Tatts Finke Desert Race victory following a disaster mechanical issue on the return trip to Alice Springs. Walsh lead the event by five minutes over eventual winner Daymon Stokie following the opening leg and saw himself forced out of the event just 10 kilometres into the home stretch, a devastating blow for the factory-backed KTM racer.
