SCOTT’s leading athletes have vowed to continue using roll-offs in the 2017 Motul MX Nationals despite Motorcycling Australia (MA) revising the regulations that had previously banned tear-offs completely.

Track licence holders can now apply for an exemption to allow tear-offs to be used at the circuits once again, however it remains uncertain what rounds of the MX Nationals will take up the option.

It’s now been confirmed that SCOTT’s top riders will in fact race-on with the WFS50 roll-off system, including defending MX1 champion Dean Ferris, Crankt Protein Honda Racing’s Luke Clout, Kiwi iron-man Hamish Harwood (Davey Motorsports KTM), as well as Yamaha Yamalube Racing duo Cody Dyce and Cooper Pozniak.

“SCOTT developed their own film system over 10 years ago and incorporated that experience, combined with 45 years creating market leading goggles for racers to create the Prospect goggle and WFS, the most advanced and race ready combination on the market,” commented Joel Ryan, Scott Motosports Australian brand manager.

“I’ve spoken with our racers and I’m not surprised to find out that most have adapted to the WFS system without issue and see no reason to change now. We’re excited to be able to offer our racers an alternative to tear-offs, one that outperforms our competition while also contributing to the longevity and growth of the sport that we’re passionate about.”

Ferris commented: “I’ll continue to use the SCOTT Prospect Works Film System for the remainder of the MX season, regardless of what the tracks decide. The system has worked faultlessly for me all season and I’d go so far as to say that the vision offered has helped me to win on more than one occasion this year.

“I’ve worked closely with the SCOTT engineers during the development of this film system and I have complete confidence in its performance. The standard of competition is so high in this year’s MX1 class that any competitive advantage can make the difference between winning or not.”
