Retro, Military and Pink Ribbon events announced.
Themed rounds will make a return to the 2017 Motul MX Nationals series in 2017 with series promoter Kevin Williams confirming multiple dates and locations this week.
The first of three scheduled theme rounds will take place at Murray Bridge in South Australia serving as the Retro Round where riders and teams will showcase unique vintage-style graphics and gear sets.
Nowra’s sixth round of the 2017 series will again serve as the Military Appreciation round with involvement from the Royal Australian Navy on the day and a slew of camouflage and military inspired livery throughout the pits and on the track.
The third and final themed round is set to take place at Coolum in Queensland at the season finale event. Continuing the tradition, Coolum will serve as the official Pink Ribbon round to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Serving as both an exciting spectacle for fans and a support system for multiple important causes, Williams looks forward to the return of these one-off rounds for 2017.
“Every year we aim to incorporate themed rounds into the series,” said Williams. “Fans simply love seeing something a bit different to what they’re used to, and quite often it’s all for a fantastic cause.
“The retro round is a lot of fun because it allows us all to reminisce on what were some wonderful racing years of the past, and since we have held retro rounds, we’ve seen some great throwbacks which I’m sure we’ll see this year too.
“The Pink Ribbon Round and Military Appreciation Round are really about giving back, and doing something special for the wider community. We have a unique platform with the Motul MX Nationals where we can raise awareness and gain significant media exposure, so I hope we can do that again in 2017.”
