The high-profile Charlotte round of the 2017 MXGP World Championship has fallen through, with a replacement venue to be announced.

As reported earlier this week, after just one year the Charlotte Motor Speedway event – scheduled for round 17 on 3 September – has been cancelled.

After hosting two rounds in America last season, Youthstream and the FIM intend to continue with a round in the US now that Charlotte’s been removed from the calendar. Local Cooper Webb won the overall there last season.
