German scheduled to undergo multiple surgeries.
Team Honda HRC and Ken Roczen have confirmed his injuries sustained at Anaheim 2 over the weekend are worse than first reported, due to undergo multiple surgeries on his injured arm in a bid to regain full fitness.
Roczen has a compound fracture of his left radius, which was announced directly following his incident, and the injury has been further complicated due to dislocations of his elbow and wrist.
“Dislocated wrist, dislocated elbow and compounded radius,” Roczen wrote to his fans on social media. “The first 30h absolutely sucked as none of the pain killers worked and it was really swollen. Gonna need few surgeries to get all this dialed.
“I have gotten so many messages and was so pleased to read all of them. I didn’t message back as the circumstances right now are just a bit gnarly and it would probably take me a day to reply, just know i saw them! Love all you! Gonna need a few days for further info.”
The winner of Anaheim 1 and San Diego was transported to a local hospital for evaluation before flying to Colorado on Sunday morning to have his personal physician perform surgery. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.
