BCP Pro Circuit Honda press release:

For the third year running the BCP Pro Circuit Honda Junior Development Team will expand its rider line up with a four rider strong team in 2017. Two riders will be based in New South Wales with one rider each from Victoria and South Australia.

The team will be ‘headed up’ by superstar junior rider Rhys Budd who has multiple state and national championships under his belt already. Budd will finish his junior career on board the BCP Honda CRF250R which will also include a guest ride later in the season in America.

“I’m pumped to be on Honda machinery and under the wing of Lee Hogan and their solid team structure,” said Rhys Budd.
“The team have won a National Championship every year and you can see how smooth everything runs at the big events. That’s the final piece to the puzzle that I’ve been looking for! Someone that’s in my corner 100%! It’s going to be a good year and I can’t wait to get into it,” continued Budd.

South Australian junior State Champion Travis Edwards has also signed for the team and will carry the number one plate on his BCP Honda as he defends his title in 2017. Travis will also battle Australia’s best juniors throughout the year as he chases the goal of his first National Junior Title in the premiere 250cc class.

“It’s great to have the support of the team behind me,” said Travis Edwards.

“Tim Vare from Eight11Racing does such a great job with the Honda machines and I just can’t believe how much more comfortable I am on this bike. We are going to give it our best shot.”

Tanesha Edwards goes into 2017 with the goal of going one better than last year as the National Junior Girls number two steps up to the big 250cc four stroke after previously racing the 125cc bike.

“We had a good year in 2016 winning the Victorian and NSW state titles while coming second place in the National Junior Titles. But I’m working hard to go one better for 2017,” said Tanesha Edwards.

“I’ve only spent a short amount of time on board the Honda 250cc four stroke after riding a 125cc two stroke all of last year and I already feel a lot faster on the Honda. The bike is just so easy to ride and I’m working really close with Lee and the rest of the team to figure out those little things that make a difference.”

The final spot in the four rider squad has gone to Victorian young gun Royce Anell. The sand specialist impressed everyone at the recent Renmark National Junior Championships edging up into the top five and showing great potential. The kind of potential that factory teams look for in their development riders!

“It’s been a bit of dream come true to secure my first ever factory junior team ride and being my last year in juniors I really want to make the most of the opportunity,” said Royce Anell.
“The Honda CRF250R is really such an easy bike for a junior or a smaller rider to really ride the wheels off and when Tim does his thing to the motor and suspension the bikes are just weapons. We are doing a lot of development at the moment with both testing on the bikes as well as rider training. It is shaping up to be a great year for myself and the team.”

The BCP Pro Circuit Honda Junior Development Team will participate in the Victorian Junior State MX Titles, the National Junior MX Titles and other selected state titles, while also competing in the three rounds of the MX Nationals that will hold the Junior 250cc class races.

Team Manager Lee Hogan is very happy with the progress of the 2017 team so far.

“The team has come together exceptionally well and I couldn’t be happier with our rider line-up,” said Hogan.

“We have some serious talent on board with a good chance of success with the right backing and development. I wouldn’t be able to run the team at this level without the support and effort from Tim Vare who has been with us since day dot looking after not only the mechanical side of things, but also helping with rider development.”
