Dylan Wills is set to sport a fresh look for 2017 as part of the Synep Racing team, an all-new Husqvarna-backed outfit based out of New South Wales.

As part of a three-rider squad, the Motul MX Nationals MX2 contender will be joined by Keiron Hall aboard the Husqvarna FC 450 in the MX1 category and Kane Fischer on the FC 250 as a rookie in MXD.

Currently recovering from a wrist injury sustained at the 2016 AUS-X Open event, Wills looks forward to beginning his pre-season preparations his new team.

“I’m excited,” Wills told MotoOnline.com.au. “I mean, not getting to ride is obviously a bit of a bummer at the moment, but I think by the time I get back on the bike there will be easily enough time to be prepared.

“I think as far as bike time, it should be fine, I’ll get on and ease my way into it, if all goes to plan I should have eight weeks to prepare.

“In that time I’ll get ready with Ken Wheeler from Factory Spec and get some good suspension settings for the bike. As far as that side of things go, it’s pretty easy as I’m going from a KTM to a Husqvarna, so it’s not a massive change for me.”

With minimal pressure and a strong support group around himself and the team, the MX2 front-runner looks forward to kicking off the 2017 with the Synep Racing crew.

“Everyone involved is super cool and they’re doing it for the right reasons,” said Wills. “It’s not a massive pressure situation with these guys, they’re just trying to give us the tools that we need to go racing.

“I’ve been mates with Hally for a long time now and I’ve only just met Kane, but he’s a good kid. He’s only been racing for a couple of years now and shows a lot of promise, so I’ll try and help guide him through his first MX Nationals season.

“It’ll be the same with the team, they’re new to all of this and I’ve been on a team now, I’ve seen how it works and what goes into it, so I’ll try and guide them along in their first MX Nationals season and try to help them acheive the goals that they have set.”

The Synep Racing team will make their official Motul MX Nationals debut at round one of the 2017 series on 2 April in Wonthaggi, Victoria.
